No although I wish I had had it at the time! I wrote my paging script
using C-Kermit 5A. I spent hours searching for a definition of the TAP
protocol before I found it documented.

UCP (Universal Computer Protocol) is another similar protocol which is
used primarily by phone companies who allow messages to be sent to their
digital mobile phones that handle SMS messages (Short Message Service).
I believe digital mobile phones are more prevalent in Europe than the
USA.
Part of this protocol involves converting the text into a stream of hex
representations of the characters, just like hexify. hexify is much
faster than doing this from a script though :)
